Judy Bradt is a knowledgeable, hardworking expert on US government procurement...a person whose role it was to assist Canadian companies in the mechanisms of the US General Services Administration (GSA).
In addition to understanding how federal procurement works, it's the same as commercial business: relationships are of critical importance, both with GSA and the federal agency customers.
Judy interceded on our behalf when we had a dispute with GSA. GSA was denying us a contract due to what they believed were several deficiencies in testing data for one of our product lines.
After the discussions she arranged and attended with us, to review our proposal with the Furniture Commodity Center, GSA conceded all but one deficiency. That last one, they had us on a technicality.
Based on Judy’s advice, we abided by their ruling and we gained a lot of credibility and respect by being honest and graceful in the way we did things. Since that time, some of the people we met with -- even though the ruling wasn't what we wanted, it led to very good long term relationships key senior key GSA people -- relationships that have gotten stronger over the years.
As a result of that meeting, these relationships have been integral to our success.
Our GSA business has grown double digits every year for the last decade.
